Tour the Western Front battlefields with specialists

Welcome to our Western Front Footsteps website. We are in our sixth year of running a tour to the First World War battlefields.

We offer a four-day coach trip with our friends at Bakers Dolphin to the battlefields of France and Flanders every September/October which follows in the footsteps of West Country soldiers. The group visits sites of special importance to local men and communities and we aim to trace as many individual stories as possible, enabling our guests to walk in their relative’s footsteps.

In 2024 we will visit the preserved trenches and tunnels on Vimy Ridge, follow in the trail of Bristol’s 6th Gloucesters on the Somme and take a detailed look at the casualty evacuation chain at Ypres. We will also visit Talbot House at Poperinghe.

Full details of our 2024 tour are given on this page.
