Tour the Western Front battlefields with specialists
Welcome to our Western Front Footsteps website. We are in our fifth year of running a tour to the First World War battlefields.
***URGENT APPEAL***
We need your help in funding the restoration of the 6th Gloucesters Memorial Panels (see THIS PAGE) and have set up a dedicated fundraising page to process donations. Please do consider helping us and safeguard this unique part of Bristol’s military and social history. Full restoration and re-installation with interpretive panels will total £5000. Our GoFundMe page can be accessed by clicking on the image below or via https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-us-to-restore-the-6th-gloucesters-memorial

We offer a four-day coach trip with our friends at Bakers Dolphin to the battlefields of France and Flanders every September which follows in the footsteps of West Country soldiers. The group visits sites of special importance to local men and communities and we aim to trace as many individual stories as possible, enabling our guests to walk in their relative’s footsteps.

In 2021 we will have a day focussing on the tunnellers’ war, exploring incredible tales of bravery and engineering from deep below No Man’s Land. We’ll also tell the story of the League of Help and how Bristol ‘adopted’ Bethune in the 1920s.
Full details of our 2021 tour are given on this page.
